Principal Function: Coordinates and promotes church efforts at encouraging discipleship and the spiritual growth of students (grades 6-12).

Working Relationships: Reports to the Pastor

Job Classification: This position is a non-exempt (hourly) and part-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and coordinate student ministry that includes Bible study, discipleship training, outreach/evangelism, fellowship, and mission action.

• Work with the church’s committees to implement a student ministry program. • Provide Christian guidance and pastoral care to students and their parents/families. • Prepare and administer the student ministry budget.

• On occasion be available nights and weekends for youth ministry events. • Visit prospects and members related to student ministry.

• Reach out to schools and other community organizations to connect with students.

• Comply with all established church policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal and state laws.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

The position of Student Minister requires:

• At least 2 years of experience on a church staff or related experience

• College or Seminary experience preferred

• Requires exceptional speaking skills and the ability to speak confidently before groups • Requires quality leadership and administrative skills.

• Requires basic ability to use computer software, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

• Requires commitment to biblical Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.

• Requires passing criminal, financial and sexual misconduct background checks.
